How To Write A Classified Ad That Creates A Wealth Of Enquiries In Eight Easy Steps

As a result of information overload, classified ads are not noticed any more. In order to have your ad read, you need to target specifically, and stand out so that your advertisement can be easily found by your customers. Here are eight steps to the perfect ad that will be noticed by your target market:

1.    Get clear on your outcome

If you just advertise your services you aren’t as likely to get as good a response as when you offer something for free. Know your customer very well: What are their needs and desires? What do they fear? In what way can you help them? Answers to these questions will help you decide what free information they will find valuable. You can then offer a report that will solve their problem.

2.    Find out where your prospect hangs out

If you know where to find your prospect, you will know where to advertise. If your prospect loves cooking you will not find them in a computer magazine. Therefore, advertising in a computer magazine would not give you results. You would be better spending your money for advertising in a food magazine.

3.    Find your power words

Your unique prospect will respond to certain power words. For example, if your prospect is a small business owner, he or she will most likely use the words “control” as they like being in control instead of working for someone. If your prospects are university lecturers, they will most likely use big words and more academic language. Knowing your prospects’ power words and using it will give your advertisements an advantage above others.

4.    Consider The Structure of your ad

Use an attention grabbing headline, followed by their power words to keep their interest. If you make an offer it will be easy for them to show their interest. Give your phone number so it is easy for them to contact you.

5.    Find places to advertise

Now you need to find magazines, newsletters and newspapers that your prospect reads.

6.    write your ad

You can now use all the information that you collected and write the advertisement. Remember to include the power words, attention grabbing headline and the free report.

7.    Have your report ready

You need to write your free report and have it ready to give on your website. When your prospect is directed there, you can send it to them.

You can also include various ways to contact you. Some prefer dealing with people directly rather than through a website.

8.    Test and measure

Write a little code at the bottom of the ad, and ask your prospect to read you that code when they phone you. Most autoresponders have ad tracking, or you can use an online testing system.

Remember not to pay for an ad unless you’ve tested it. Flyers and online landing pages are free to use. So is email. Test first to see your response rate before pulling out your credit card.

If you follow these steps you will have success with your advertising campaigns, get more leads and increase your profits.
